Submissions to
Gift Retailers Connection
Submissions of photos,
articles, and letters are always welcomed by the Editors.
This is your magazine and
sharing your information and photos with others in the industry is
wanted and needed. You don't have to be a great writer or
photographer. Editing can make a good article or photo look great.
There are a few guidelines
listed below.
1. Gift Retailers Connection
is a copyrighted publication. Photos and articles submitted and
accepted for use in our publication cannot appear in another
publication without written permission without violating copyright
laws. All articles printed in Gift Retailers Connection are accepted
as First North American Serial Rights and are copyrighted by the
publication.
2. All quotes from others should be approved by the person making
the statement. Author is responsible for obtaining any necessary
permissions to quote from other publications or works.
3. Articles should range in length from 500 to 1200 words.
Exceptions can be made for longer articles on an individual basis.
4. We welcome articles/photos from vendors as well. They should be
of informational value to the industry and not be a sales pitch for
the vendor’s products.
5. Gift Retailers Connection reserves the right to edit any
articles/photos used in the publication.
6. Photos should be taken on a
light-colored background or cut out from the background. We prefer
that gift baskets be photographed without being wrapped.
7. Gift Retailers Connection retains exclusive rights to all
original work. While authors may link to the articles, the articles,
once published by Gift Retailers Connection cannot ever be published
elsewhere without prior permission from the Editor. Authors may,
however, make print copies of the articles for use in portfolios and
other sales materials for their own individual business.
8. Gift Retailers Connection retains rights to republish articles
anytime in the future in any medium including, but not limited to,
print, CD-Rom, partner sites, etc. The author will be credited
anytime the article is used.
9. There is no payment for articles unless pre-arrangements have
been made. All accepted articles will be printed with author’s
byline
